Admission Requirements

  • Enrollment in a Master's or Doctoral degree program at Texas A&M University or School of Rural Public Health
  • Submit all admission materials

An application to enroll in the CPS program must include the following: 

  • Applicant's name
  • Date of application
  • Permanent and local mailing addresses, telephone number, and email address
  • Professional and employment experience
  • Past academic degree(s): type, location, year
  • Current graduate degree program: Department, Master or Doctoral status
  • Major advisor and graduate advisory committee members
  • Coursework/Degree Plan, signed by Graduate Advisory Committee and student’s department head
  • Official undergraduate or graduate transcript, whichever is the most recent
  • Student's signature and date
  • Statement of intent (career goals and value of the CPS to meeting those goals)

The CPS Advisory Council accepts students with good academic standing in their degree program. Students also show evidence of career interests compatible with prevention science.
