Texas Autism Collaborative

The Texas Autism Collaborative (TAC) is a university-based program at Texas A&M University in College Station and is affiliated with the Center on Disability and Development. TAC’s mission is to improve outcomes for individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in school, home, and community settings and to train practitioners to use research-based methods with this population via research, training, and outreach.

To this end, TAC provides opportunities for practitioners to work directly with individuals with autism spectrum disorders under the supervision of experts in the field. TAC places an additional emphasis on serving traditionally underserved populations, including those individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and rural communities. In order to reach these underserved populations, TAC works in partnership with private nonprofit agencies, local agencies, and schools to provide training for parents and service providers and to conduct research relevant to these populations.
