What would I do in HBE

What would I do in the Hispanic Bilingual Education Program?

We prepare teachers to work with students from PK-16 in all levels and areas of Hispanic Bilingual Education.

Once you are admitted in the program (please see Admissions Process), you will begin a four semester sequence called "Blocks" described below.  Each block includes courses and related field experiences that provide progressive knowledge and skill sets necessary to be a competent teacher. (course sequence).

Our field experiences include rural and urban settings with a wide range of diversity represented.

Students leave our program well prepared to meet the challenges of teaching in Hispanic Bilingual Education, and are sought after by school districts throughout the state.

Block I: You are placed in a classroom with an experienced mentor teacher and are involved in learning and demonstrating basic teaching activities.
