What would I do

What would I do in the Special Education Program?

We prepare teachers to work with students from Early Childhood through age 21 in all levels and areas of Special Education.

Once you are admitted in the program (Application Procedures), you will begin a four semester sequence called "Blocks" described below.  Each block includes courses and related field experiences that provide progressive knowledge and skill sets necessary to be a competent teacher. (course sequence).

Our field experiences include rural and urban settings with a wide range of diversity represented.

Students leave our program well prepared to meet the challenges of teaching in special education, and are sought after by school districts throughout the state.

Block I: You are placed in a classroom with an experienced mentor teacher and are involved in learning and demonstrating basic teaching activities.
