Application to Special Education Certification Program
Students interested in Special Education will be required to fill out an application and complete the application process. The application process is competitive and meeting the minimum program prerequisites listed below does not guarantee admission to the program. Cohorts of applicants will be considered twice yearly, once in the fall, (for spring admission) and again in the spring (for fall admission).
Prerequisites
Students must meet these minimum requirements to apply:
- 45-60 completed credit hours
- An overall GPR of 2.75 or higher if under catalog 134
- Successful completion of MATH 141 and MATH 142 (or their equivalents), and 2 lab sciences
- Completion of INST 310 with a "B" or better
- Completion of SPED 302 with a "B" or better OR be currently enrolled.
Application Deadlines
October 15 for admission with spring cohort
March 15 for admission with fall cohort
