Brenda Sandoval was recognized as a May 2008 Distinguished Honor Graduate at a ceremony in her honor on Friday, May 9.

Brenda is an education major with a focus in bilingual education.  As a first generation high school and college graduate, Brenda knows what it takes to work hard for what you want.  Her parents instilled in her that education is something no person can take away from you.  Through their love and guidance, Brenda overcame obstacles that some people find on the road to a better education and will graduate on Saturday magna cum laude with a 3.7 GPR.

For the past two and a half years, Brenda has worked in the Bilingual Education Program.  Brenda says that working at the Bilingual Office has helped her build a strong network and has broadened her horizons.  By working there she learned what it takes to make a difference in someone's life.  She worked with her mentors and found a family while working with the Bilingual Education Program.

Brenda plans to teach at Plano ISD and pursue a master's degree in bilingual education.  She will treasure the great professors she interacted with while at Texas A&M and by their example she will make it her duty to plant the desire to learn and pursue ones dreams in each of her students.
