McConnell Honored as Distinguished Honor Graduate8/10/07

The College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University honored Janice McConnell as a Distinguished Honor Graduate Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at 3 p.m. in Room 229 in the Memorial Student Center. McConnell, an educational psychology special education major from Bryan, Texas, graduated magna cum laude with a 3.66 Friday, Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. in Reed Arena.
"I have a greater understanding of behavior issues and working with families as we find the best solutions available for their children," McConnell said. "A constant effort to find what works best is my priority."
McConnell has had several internships providing her with a variety of teaching experiences. She has interned for elementary children at College Hills Elementary School in College Station, Texas, and she has worked with students in the LIFE Skills class at A&M Consolidated High School in College Station.
Apart from her time interning in the classroom, McConnell was recognized by the Dean's Honor Roll, recognized as a Distinguished Student and was a member of the Pi Lambda Theta Honor Society.
Upon graduation, McConnell will be teaching a LIFE Skills class at Jane Long Middle School in Bryan.
