The Department of Educational Psychology (EPSY) is committed to improving the educational experience for all people through its leadership both in the generation of new knowledge relevant to human learning, growth, and development, and in the promotion of effective, meaningful application of such knowledge. The EPSY community pursues this mission with special consideration of cultural inferences, human diversity, and individual needs and abilities that shape the educational experience for each person. Ph.D. programs in the department are offered in Educational Psychology, Counseling Psychology, and School Psychology. The programs in Counseling and School Psychology are accredited by the American Psychological Association. Emphases in Educational Psychology include Educational Psychology Foundations (with specializations in Intelligence, Creativity and Giftedness; Research, Measurement and Statistics; or Learning, Development and Instruction), Special Education, and Hispanic Bilingual Education.

At the master's level, M.Ed. degrees are offered in Educational Technology, School Counseling, Gifted and Talented Education, Hispanic Bilingual Education, and Special Education. Within Special Education, distinct programs are offered in Bilingual Special Education, non-categorical Special Education, Low Incidence Disabilities, and Transition Services. M.S. degrees are offered in Human Learning and Development, Gifted and Talented Education, and Research, Measurement and Statistics.
