
WHAT IS THE ADHD CLINIC?
The Texas A&M ADHD Clinic offers comprehensive, integrated, state-of-the-science assessment and intervention services for children, adolescents, and families dealing with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The ADHD clinic's individualized, integrated approach to treatment recognizes that ADHD may affect a child's social, academic, and behavioral success and poses challenges for the entire family. After a comprehensive assessment, the ADHD Clinic offers scientifically-validated interventions that build on child and family strengths to address areas of concern, including child self-management, parent-child interactions, and home-school collaboration.

ADHD is a chronic disability that affects from 3 to 7% of children and adolescents consisting of the following features:

HE ASSESSMENT COMPONENT
There is no single “test” for ADHD. We provide a comprehensive evaluation to firmly establish a diagnosis, rule out other causes, and identify coexisting conditions which may be a focus of treatment. Every assessment is individualized to the needs of the client and their family. Some clients may require a complete evaluation with testing, but others may only need an abbreviated evaluation.
THE TREATMENT COMPONENT
Recognizing that ADHD usually requires a combination of psychological, medical, and educational treatments, we develop an individualized treatment plan involving one or more of the following scientifically-based modules with either the child or the parents:
OUR MISSION
Texas A&M’s Counseling and Assessment Clinic (CAC) is a community-based clinic that provides psychological services for all members of the community. One goal of this clinic is to provide quality services to clients with ADHD and their families, while providing quality training to our advanced doctoral-level trainees.

3370 South Texas Avenue, Bryan, Texas. The health center building is across the street from the KFC on Texas Avenue between University and Villa Maria. Look for the entrance marked CAC. When specialized assessment is needed for the ADHD Clinic, some clients are seen at the CAC-Heaton Assessment and Research Clinic on the Texas A&M campus.
