Sandra Acosta, assistant professor of bilingual education in the Department of Educational Psychology, was recently appointed to the state textbook review panel for Proclamation 2010. She will serve on the review panel for Spanish reading, grade two, which will meet in Austin during the week of June 15-19.
According to the letter of appointment to Acosta: "A state review panel member occupies one of the most influential advisory positions in Texas education, and this appointment reflects your interest, ability and expertise in your field. Review panel members play an important role in determining which instructional materials will be used by school districts and open-enrollment charter schools for the next few years."
