Transition Services Specialist

In addition to providing individualized instruction, secondary special educators are often responsible for coordinating the transition planning from school to work, college, or other placements.  Due to the shortage of personnel in special education, this area of the field is in high demand.  The Transition Services Specialist Program teaches the learner how to effectively prepare students with disabilities at the secondary level for their transition from school to adult life. We prepare specialists through our program which also serves as a national model for interdisciplinary training in the area of transition services.
