Down Home Ranch

SUMMER CAMP EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Down Home Ranch is a working farm and ranch for people with special needs. Coming up this summer is our Ranch Camp, located northeast of Austin, in Elgin. The Ranch has a large pond, greenhouses, miniature donkeys and horses, and a brand new in-ground pool. We offer six one-week camps of pure fun for the mentally handicapped ages 13 and older. Let me give you a few of the details.

The positions we have available include Program Counselor, those applying for these positions must be available for all sessions and Cabin Counselor who may sign up for one to six weeks of Ranch Camp.

All staff must attend the entire weekend of Staff Orientation, May 26 at 9am through May 27 at 2pm.

Program Counselor Positions ($250 per week):

· Music & Drama

· Sports & Recreation

· Nature & Animal Husbandry

· Arts & Crafts

Cabin Counselors ($150 per week):

· Male Cabin Counselors (7 positions each week)

· Female Cabin Counselors (7 positions each week)

Minimum Age: 18 by September 1, 2007

Additional Information:

~A background check will be run on all applicants

We will be attending several of the camp fairs at the colleges and universities throughout Texas as part of our recruitment program for Ranch Camp positions, so I recommend that if you are interested in applying for any of the Ranch Camp positions you should get your application in by March 1.

Last year's Ranch Camps were awesome and we're looking forward to another great summer of camps coming up. With applications already coming in, we're expecting to once again have a waiting list of campers. It's going to be an exciting Ranch Camp 2006.
